Paragould

Welcome to Paragould: a historic yet modern community! The town started to develop into the town we know today in the early 1880’s. The arrival of the railroad brought in more residents, more industries, and more businesses over the next century and its growth hasn’t stopped since. While Paragould has many modern amenities—including shopping centers, hospitals, and manufacturing companies—it hasn’t lost touch with its small-town roots. Downtown Paragould is still filled with historic brick storefronts, and neighbors still say “hello” to each other in passing.

Crowley’s Ridge National Scenic Byway is a major attraction in Paragould. Stretching nearly 200 miles in Arkansas alone, this historic highway travels alongside rich Arkansas farmland, forests, and state parks. Near Paragould, this route lies along Highway 141 and passes by Crowley’s Ridge State Park, a popular spot for camping, hiking, and kayaking on the lake.

Paragould Shopping and Dining

Packed with shops and restaurants, downtown Paragould is the place to be. While a visit to any local business is a great choice, be sure to visit the historic Collins Theatre. There are also several local eateries such as, Chow at 118, Casa Brava, Avanzara Italian Restaurant, and Ironhorse Barbeque And Steakhouse. There is also no shortage of shopping. You can check some of these great boutique stores such as Cutie Patootie, Southern Roots, and Glo Boutiuqe. You can also check out Belks or eat at a chain restaurant such as Chili’s or McDonald’s. 

Schools

You’ll find no shortage of education options in Paragould. Paragould School District, Marmaduke School District, and Greene County Tech School District serve Paragould’s K-12 students. Crowley’s Ridge Academy and St. Mary’s School are two private schools in the area. For higher education, Arkansas Northeastern College, Arkansas State University, and Black River Technical College offer campuses in Paragould.
