Get outside
Arkansas is known for its beautiful nature and Northeast Arkansas is no different! Our areas is s haven for nature lovers with many parks right in our backyard. Craighead Forest is a convenient spot for campers, providing an RV campground. They also have recently updated their biking and hiking trails, making it one of the best in this area. If fishing is something you enjoy, there are numerous fishing opportunities available, such as newly introduced kayak rentals. At Crowley’s Ridge Nature Center, you can explore a three-story exhibit showcasing indigenous wildlife, from large game animals to small insects. Additionally, you can take a leisurely walk along the quarter-mile Habitats Trail that spans 160 acres. For those seeking a more extended trip, a family road trip through the Ozarks is always a summer favorite.

NEA provides numerous community spots to escape the heat. Here are some options:
- Craighead Forest’s splash pad.
- The Paragould Aquatic Center provides swimming pools, water slides, and splash pads, catering to both kids and adults.
- The new community pool at Parker Park, offers a splash pad, diving board, slide, basketball goals, and shaded jacuzzi areas.
Local cuisine
During the summer, local farmers come together at Farmers Markets in cities such as Jonesboro, Paragould, and Blytheville. Visitors can explore fresh, locally grown produce, homemade goods, and unique crafts, showcasing the region’s agricultural richness.
